My friend, this is a bogus argument.
Marvel is the keeper of the canon. Marvel gets to make the choices.
Whatever Marvel publishes, whether you like it or not, is the real deal.
You may not like the work of Rick or whomever, and you may not have grown up with the same comics that they have, but it’s the height of arrogance to reduce the genuine creative efforts of people in this manner—especially given that the creators you best loved as a reader were doing the exact same thing, creating stories, building upon the stuff that came before them that they liked and ignoring or working around the stuff they didn’t like.
It tends too, I think, to be those who have no writing credentials whatsoever who are the first to cry “fan fiction” at whatever developments they don’t like.
As always, my anonymous friend, you can stop reading whenever you choose to.
I don’t even understand how someone could keep that argument up long enough to type it out. Marvel is literally the only entity that cannot create Marvel fan fiction. The same way that DC can’t create DC fan fiction. This is such an entitled fan position “I don’t like it so it doesn’t even count”
